There has been a lot of talk in recent days in regards to the whole Kony 2012 phenomena that has been taking the country by storm by way of social media. In today’s world, its how we stay connected. In fact, you probabally just discovered this column from a social media site! It is the new normal in a world that is everchanging. The fact that Kony is the new firestorm on social media is really no surprise to me, nor should it be.

Social media can do a world of great things. Think about it. How often are we sharing what other people post? How often do we respond to the things we like or don’t like online by way of social media? Our world IS social media, and if you’re looking to spread a message like the Koney message, you need to do it by way of social media, where the world of today is.

So, now that we got that out of the way, how many of you have actually sat and viewed the nearly half hour video of Kony 2012? Yes, it is a nearly 30 minute video for those of you who haven’t watched it, and its not something you should go and get the popcorn over. It is a rather nauseating video of cruelty in our world, a world we have turned a blind eye too, and now it is time to stand together as one to try to resolve the issue at hand.

I’m not going to sit here and spill the beans. I’m just going to sit here ans encourage you all to watch the video below. It is a message that I think was well put together and could do more explaining on the subject than I ever could. Yes, it may be 30 minutes of your time, but once you watch it, you too will stand with me in joining Kony 2012.

    1. Allison,

Thank-you for the heads up! I actually noticed the error as soon as it was posted. I blog from my iPhone and tablet so auto- correct does a number on some spelling issues!
